A Deep Dive into
Presence-Based Coaching®

October 6, 2014

3:00pm - 5:30pm

Hess Club

Presence-Based Coaching® is a cutting edge approach that addresses the questions: What creates sustainable change?  How do we work with our habits and conditioned patterns that get in the way of our presence and limit our ability to create change in the moment?  And what does the body have to do with this?

Join Presence-Based Coaching faculty Bebe Hansen, MSSW, ACC for a dynamic session on an essential aspect of Presence-Based Coaching: Including the Body in Change.  This will be an interactive learning event that offers new and innovative perspectives on presence and the body, and explores the crucial importance of presence for both coach and client in coaching.

We will work somatically in and through the body to begin to access, create and support change. This 2 and 1/2 hour session encourages coaches to try on new activities and practices for themselves, so that these emerging skills can be embodied, and thus applied more skillfully in real client situations.

Learning Objectives/Outcomes:
  • Participants will have an increased understanding and experience of coaching presence, and be able to support their clients in accessing the presence that underpins any change effort.
  • Participants will understand how the intersection of neurobiology and history either supports or inhibits progress toward coaching outcomes.
  • Participants will take away several practical coaching tools that can be applied immediately with their clients.
  • ICF Core competencies covered: Coaching Presence, Active Listening, Creating Awareness, Powerful Questions.
Presence-Based Coaching®:
How Does Presence Support Change

October 6, 2014

6:00pm - 8:30pm

Hess Club

Presence is an ICF core competency.  Presence is also at the very core of resilience, and a meta-competency for our clients that support every other coaching outcome.  Since Presence is central to seeing and acting on new choices, evoking presence in our clients is essential to delivering on their outcomes.

Presence-Based Coaching® uniquely integrates mindfulness, somatics, leadership theory, developmental psychology and interpersonal neurobiology, all underpinned by Presence. Join Presence-Based Coaching faculty Bebe Hansen, MSSW, ACC for a lively evening session that introduces several fundamental concepts from this coaching model.  Interact with coaching tools you can apply immediately, and begin to understand how Presence can impact both our coaching and our client’s success.

Learning Objectives/Outcomes:
  • Participants will learn several key distinctions from Presence-Based Coaching methodology that contribute to our understanding as coaches of how change happens.
  • Participants will have a deeper view of how barriers to change both operate and impact client’s coaching goals.
  • Participants will understand more about how accessing Presence both as coach and as client supports sustainable change.
  • ICF Core competencies covered: Coaching Presence, Active Listening, Creating Awareness, Powerful Questions.
