VITAL SIGNS: THE NATURE AND NURTURE OF PASSION----A HANDS-ON WORKSHOP
Passion is a concept that's talked about a lot in the coaching, career, business and leadership arenas---employee engagement, mission statements, finding a calling. But passion is much bigger (and deeper) than what happens M-F 9-5. It's a life skill---a stance---that helps bring vitality to all our engagements, from work, family and school life, to creative, social and even spiritual life.
This hands-on mini-workshop----facilitated by Gregg Levoy, author of the bestseller Callings, and the brand new Vital Signs (Penguin)----offers a series of self-reflective questions (and small-group work) designed to explore what inspires passion and what defeats it---both for ourselves and those we coach and counsel.
VITAL SIGNS: THE NATURE AND NURTURE OF PASSION - LECTURE
This presentation is about what inspires passion and what defeats it, how we lose it and how we get it back---both for ourselves and those we counsel and coach. It's not just about finding a passion, but living passionately. Not just passion as a place we get to, but a place we come from.
Gregg Levoy is the author of Callings: Finding and Following An Authentic Life (Random House)----rated among the "Top 20 Career Publications" by the Workforce Information Group and a text in various graduate programs in Management and Organizational Leadership---and Vital Signs: The Nature and Nurture of Passion (Penguin). He has presented at the Smithsonian Institution, Environmental Protection Agency, National Conference on Positive Aging, Microsoft, British Petroleum, the Universities of Texas/Alabama/California/Colorado/Washington and others, the American Counseling Association, National Career Development Association, International Association of Career Management Professionals, and others, and been a frequent guest of the media, including ABC-TV, CNN, NPR and PBS.

I feel and experience it in the spirit of commitment, volunteerism, and collaboration that exists amongst our talented board, and committees, and members who work tirelessly to create and implement the ICF Houston Chapter experience.
There are other important signs of ICF Houston pride: each year more and more individuals explore and join our growing community of professional coaches. Each year sponsors express growing confidence in our organization through their generous financial contributions that help support our innovative programs and exciting new initiatives.
